Homer Simulation
For training purposes, HoSim.exe, the simulation version of HomSoft, is available. HoSim simulates (computes) “measurement” results based on your inputs. Therefore, it does not require a physical Homer system, but only a computer. For versions starting V5.0.0.0, the HoSim user folder is
c:\Users\<username>\S-Team\HoSim
To simulate the tuning performance of your particular unit, HoSim can be customized by loading the Tun.mem file of a real Homer.
If Rectified or Pulsed mode of sampling is selected, the simulation will generate characteristic rectified- or pulsed-type waveforms (Fig. 46). The waveforms can be seen when the display of individual samples is chosen. To do that, activate the
Signal toolbar button (Fig. 15), leaving the
button deactivated. Alternatively, open the Homer Sampling Setup window, then check the Send Samples checkbox and uncheck the Single-Shot checkbox.

Tuning stub positions are controlled the same way as in the live programs (see Tuner View window). Unlike the live programs, the stubs can also be moved during the simulated measurement.
